Company Profile

FuturEcoLogic helps to mentor business and organisations towards a better, balanced and sustainable future. We are passionate about delivering positive change and enabling sustainability leadership. Our knowledge and experience is wide-ranging, working across communities through to large, complex organisations.

There is so much brilliant work to share around sustainability, some difficult and challenging conflicts to resolve and whole, new systems to build. The time for change is now.

Our Social and Environmental Activities

FuturEcoLogic is a sustainability consultancy - Director, Michelle Furtado - that practices what it preaches. We're not perfect but we try hard to get there.

As a sole-trader I work as effectively as possible to reduce our carbon footprint, the business and my families. This included utilising renewable electricty (via Ecotricity) at the old UK home office, maximising the use of remote technology and choosing public transport for client meetings.

My main offering for the wider community was to lead and support a number of initiatives through volunteering (detailed below).

National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces, Trustee (2013-ongoing) - voluntary role with the only national-level, volunteer-led organisation lobbying directly on behalf of the vibrant Friends and environmental groups movement across the UK.

Green Tides CIC, Director (2016-ongoing) - voluntary role in the local forum for the Adur & Worthing network of Friends and environmental groups. We provide training, regular networking events and strategic support directly to groups. We are partners in the development of the forthcoming Climate Emergency Centre.

Worthing Climate Action Network (2016-ongoing) - volunteer with WCAN, which primarily started to campaign for West Sussex County Council to divest from fossil fuels. We have actively engaged the wider community through direct outreach events, initiated the Refill Worthing scheme, undertook cultural programmes (theatre and art exhibitions) and worked collaboratively with Adur & Worthing Councils to deliver the Zero 2030 climate conference. We are partners in the development of the forthcoming Climate Emergency Centre.

Permaculture Learning Centre (2022) - the initiation and development of a permaculture homestead in central Portugal. The project will explore the intersection of regenerative agriculture and technology, exploring opportunities for knowledge sharing, training, diversification and technological advancements to build resilient rural economies.
