At HDS we believe that sustainability is about more than just being eco-conscious. We take an ethical approach to sourcing all of our services, and take pride in educating other businesses about the impact their digital presence can have on the environment and the world around them.
We are proud to offer hosting services that run on 100% renewal energy, powered by wind and solar and are always honest and transparent with our clients at every stage. We strive to provide the best possible services we can, without adding a green tax top. We're passionate about creating good outcomes for our clients and the planet.
Founder Tracy has always been very eco-aware, and in 2021 she decided to bring that environmental approach into the business more formally. Now, HDS is based in a converted garden room powered by solar, drives an electric vehicle and uses environmentally friendly suppliers, where possible. We hold multiple green credentials and are working towards further sustainability accreditations all the time.
But it's not all about the big changes. Tracy knows that sustainability is as much about the little things, and those minor decisions and actions that can make a massive difference in the battle against climate change. Tracy and her team are working towards carbon neutrality in every aspect, including being members of schemes like Too Good To Go and Oddbox, which aim to avoid food waste in the grocery industry, as well as Mossy Earth and Ecologi, to continue our contributions towards environmental causes. We have conducted a Scope 1 & 2 review of our carbon emissions, and are currently working on Scope 3 with all of our suppliers.
Outside of the business, Tracy is the Chair of 7th Woking Scouts group, which is a bit of a family affair! Her husband is the Group Scout Leader, eldest daughter is a Young Leader, and our youngest is still in Scouts, but she's looking forward to being a young leader next year too.
