As a solo business owner, my approach to responsible business practices reflects my personal values. My love of the outdoors - walking, mountain biking, and wild adventures - has stayed with me since my 20s and has inspired fundraising and volunteering for charities over the years.

I try to make responsible choices in both my personal life and my business. I minimise single-use plastics by shopping at refill stores. I also choose eco-friendly cleaning products, use green energy at home and, where possible, prefer to buy from small independent businesses which supports local communities and economies.

As a business, I work remotely, which keeps travel and emissions low. I also aim to keep my business practices as environmentally conscious as possible and regularly review the choices I make to look for practical improvements.

I’m not perfect, but I do what I can, when I can, and I’m a big believer in small actions adding up over time. For me, responsible business is about being thoughtful in my choices and honest about where I can improve.

I also value working with businesses that care about how they operate and contribute to their communities. None of us gets everything right, but I believe it's important to share a genuine commitment to doing things more responsibly.

Over the coming year, I'll continue looking for practical ways to reduce my environmental impact.
