We don't think family life should be hard, or that bringing up children should be stressful. We don't think it's OK that young people in the UK are among the unhappiest in the developed world. Or that one in four adults has a mental health issue. So we're going to change it. The Happy Families Plan is a social enterprise that brings together experts who can help families stop surviving and start thriving.
First and foremost, our aim is to help families live happier and healthier lives through helping them discover and use the tools that will help them.
As a social enterprise we plough our profits back into communities. In 2021 we plan to support repair cafes get back on their feet (or up and running) and grow, with the resources and support they need. These cafes do so much that fits with what we care about - providing community and companionship; the opportunity to do something useful and learn valuable skills; bringing people together across the generations; and moving away from a throw away culture to one where we reduce, reuse and repurpose.
We work with other businesses who share our values, often working with flexible workers and start-ups trying to get a foot on the ladder.
We're working hard to keep our environmental footprint as low as we can, and we are constantly trying to do more. Our energy is 100% renewable. In 2021 we will switch to a renewable-powered web hosting service. We do what we can to help the families we work with develop their environmental awareness and understanding - as we know that being environmentally conscious helps us all live more grounded, happier lives.
We work primarily with small businesses and charities and we always keep our business processes simple and transparent, aiming to pay all invoices within five working days.
