Wingfield Consultants Ltd

Company Profile

Wingfield Consultants is a purpose-driven, award-winning management consulting, coaching and mentoring company that helps UK small and micro businesses, start-ups and scale-ups alike, grow and prosper responsibly.

We exist for the businesses ORB champions: the solo founders, micro enterprises and small teams that form the backbone of the UK economy but rarely get the strategic support larger firms take for granted.

Our work at Wingfield Consultants spans three connected services. Management consulting turns ambition into a workable strategic plan: clarifying purpose, proposition, pricing and priorities so growth is deliberate rather than accidental.

Business coaching and mentoring, delivered at ILM Level 7, gives owners a confidential thinking partner for the decisions only they can make, from first hire to succession.

And our responsible business support helps SMEs embed people-planet-profit thinking into everyday operations; including readiness for formal standards and certifications — so doing the right thing becomes a commercial advantage, not an administrative burden.

Everything is predicated on data, research and insight rather than opinion, and delivered in plain English with practical tools clients keep using long after an engagement ends. The outcomes our clients report are consistent: sharper strategy, stronger leadership confidence, more resilient operations, and growth that doesn't cost them their values (or their weekends).

Responsibility is not a service line for Wingfield Consultants; it is the business model. We hold firmly to an 80/20 commitment: 80% paying clients, 20% pro bono support for local communities, charities, social enterprises and businesses that could not otherwise afford professional advice. Why? Because people don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it, and doing good is good business. That is precisely why ORB's pledge and its people-planet-profit ethos align so naturally with how we already work.

Wingfield Consultants is founded and led by Simon Wingfield CMgr FCMI: a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, the Institute of Consulting, the Institute of Leadership, the Association of Business Mentors and the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs. Simon is an ILM Level 7 qualified coach and mentor, an Associate Tutor at Norwich Business School (UEA), an Agile Group Certified Partner and a Business Growth Coaches Network coach. He also serves pro bono as a Non-Executive Director of Rippleacts CIC, keeping our social commitment visible at board level.

Fresh Thinking. Proven Results. Responsibly delivered.

Our Social and Environmental Activities

Responsible business at Wingfield Consultants is built into how we operate, not written up afterwards.

What we do in practice:

On the social side, Wingfield Consultant's defining commitment is the 80/20 model: 80% of our capacity serves paying clients and 20% is delivered pro bono to local communities, charities, social enterprises and small businesses that could not otherwise access professional consulting, coaching or mentoring. That commitment is structural — it holds in busy quarters, not just quiet ones. It is reinforced by unpaid roles that put time where our values are serving as Non-Executive Director of Rippleacts CIC, a community interest company, and teaching as an Associate Tutor at Norwich Business School (UEA), developing the next generation of responsible managers. Beyond our own footprint, we multiply impact through client work — helping SMEs embed people-planet-profit thinking into strategy and operations, including preparing for recognised responsible business standards and certifications.

On the environmental side, Wingfield Consultants run a deliberately low-footprint practice: virtual-first delivery as the default to cut business travel; journeys consolidated and taken by public transport where practical when on-site work is genuinely needed; a paperless, digital-first approach to documents and contracts; and a repair-and-reuse approach to equipment, buying less and keeping it longer.

How our social and environmental commitments and actions are measured and reviewed:

The 80/20 split is tracked against delivered days and reviewed quarterly, so the pro bono commitment is evidenced rather than estimated. Responsible business commitments sit inside our Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and are reviewed annually alongside commercial performance — the same discipline we ask of clients. Pro bono engagements are logged with the outcomes achieved, and client feedback is gathered at the close of every engagement, paid or unpaid.

Our next-step commitment. Over the coming year we will formalise what we already practise: completing ORB's Responsible Business Standard journey to independently certify our approach and establishing a simple measured baseline of our travel and energy footprint so future reductions are tracked against evidence, not intentions.

We hold to a simple truth: people don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it. Doing good is good business — and we intend to keep proving it.
